Gratitude: Girls Night Out

Thank you….those words do not seem nearly adequate to express the depth of my gratitude to everyone who participated in Girls Night Out last week – guests and vendors!  It was such a fun evening of socializing, sharing, shopping and GIVING!  We were able to raise a good donation for Family Tree (www.thefamilytree.org) to support victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and homelessness…AND….we are looking at doing it again in October!!

While I’m certain that I will, in my unfortunate brain fog, neglect to thanks someone personally – my sincere appreciation goes out to our vendors and those who provided raffle items:

Senior Style Saturdays: Plaid

Inspired by Charlotte Ronson
Welcome to Senior Style Saturdays – a peek at fashion/funk/fun and just a little inspiration for senior sessions.  This week…………………plaid – yes, it is all the rage -  and while it isn’t my personal favorite (hahaha Cada) – I get it!  And, done right, I’ll even admit that I like it!

The problem with plaid is that it can be VERY distracting in a photo – especially the larger, brighter plaids.  We want the world to see your beautiful face – not just your shirt.

The true key to plaids for senior photos is LAYERS!  Bring in those solid layers and textures to complement the print.  It will ensure that you are as much a part of your photo as your shirt is!!!
Check out these fun outfits we found….

Express Session April – YES! All Month!!

So – best laid plans and all – we had originally planned a “April Showers” Express Session for next month, but life happened and our Saturdays are filling with High School Senior Models….so we decided to simply make the whole month Express Session month.   What does that mean exactly?  It means anything goes and you can book an express session for any Wed-Friday the entire month of April – no theme.  All of our standard “rules” apply to these sessions but what a great opportunity to get in for some fun spring photos!  Call the studio today!  303.525.1717

Promotions: Winter White Express Session – THIS Fri/Sat

Hello 2010!!

Well here we are once again at the beginning of a new year – and here I am once again committing to keep my blog updated.  I know I promised the same thing last year (and failed miserably) but I now have it in Sharpie on my calendar…..and my lovely staff have vowed to keep me on track.  So….Cada and Katie, stay on me!

2010 is shaping up to be an exciting year!

We have a number of fun express sessions planned, a couple of big charity events, and a few surprises up our sleeves!

So grab your calendar and take note!

Peek-a-Boo: Urban Baby A

I figured while I was posting urban babies, I should post little miss A.  Love her!!!!!

This & That: Simply Mommy

If you are a new mom, know a new mom, are thinking of becoming a new mom…or need a great photography prop…you need to know about Simply Mommy and the Snuggle Me Cushion.  I met Mia, of Simply Mommy, at an expo last year and instantly fell in love with this cushion when I saw her demonstrating it.  It is designed with a center “sling” that brings the sides of the cusion in to snuggle baby and keep them cozy, comfy, and warm- very cool.  It is also the perfect shape for baby photos – BONUS.  Yes, I know I sound like a commercial – but it really is a great product.  So, anyway….fast forward to now, and Mia asked if I could do a product shoot for her —- OF COURSE!

Loft Life: Photos – FINALLY

OK…..crazy people (and you know who you are)…..you can now stop bugging me to post photos!  This, my friends, is our zany urban LoDo Loft.  It is FUN, functional, fabulous….If you have not yet had a Contemporary Expressions session this year, what are you waiting for?   To say that we love this space is an understatement.  It is so much more fitting for our style and personality – and who can resist roof access with a view of Downtown AND the mountains.  Our seniors are LOVING the variety and “edge” we get from the surrounding streets and alleys and …… speaking of alleys…..I’ll be posting some of our more recent Urban Kids sessions soon – it is so fun seeing those cute, innocent faces in our funky alleys!  So….here it is:

Peek-a-boo, G. and L.

Little G. and L. have something in common (other than their photographer – LOL) – they were born on the same day!!!!  I thought it only appropriate to show them together.  Big sqeezes to both of you~!
